Abstract

The motor has an input terminal connected to an AC voltage source. There is a capacitor and a device connecting it and the main stator winding in series to the motor current input. - A regulating device (36) generates a control magnetic flux in the magnetic material (12) in order to change the quantity of magnetic material (12) which is effectively surrounded by the stator winding. The motor has a stator made of magnetic material with the main stator winding wound round it.
