Abstract

The gripper is inflatable and is used in a bottle bandling machine. When not inflated it has a flat tened shape and pointed end to penetrate between the bottles. The inflatable portion of the gripper is made from rubberised fabric or other similar material and comprises a flat central portion (26) with a tubular section (10) at one end for locating over a rigid bar (12). The other end has an inflatable compartment (2, 3) each side and a stiffening bar (6) is positioned centrally. When inflated, three gripping ribs extend outwards. These are semi-rigid and comprises one (30) each side at the top, and one (28) in the centre at the bottom.
