Abstract
A process and appts. for sepg. particles of different mol. wts. incorporate feeding the mixt. of particles into a space between a fixed cylindrical body and a rotor situated at the centre of the body. The rotor is fitted with the alternate sets of radial structures and centripetal collectors. The rotor revolves at high speed and impart to the particles the necessary velocity for sepn. The lighter particles go a certain distance along the rotor. the heavier particles go along the body. The lighter particles are evacuated by the collectors subjected to a low press. The heavier particles are extracted by centrifugal means on the body. The collectors can bring about phase-change, and centrifuging with condensation. The radial elements can be of many forms. The appts. permits sepn. under rigid control of temp. and press. of gaseous particles by imparting to them a sufficient speed of rotation for the difference in molecular weights to effect their sepn. Its dimensions, length or dia. are not limited. A sufficient number of bearings can allow it to be of any length.
