Abstract
Ultracentrifuge rotor with axial hub and radial-armed spider with coaxial cylindrical wall. The radius of curvature of the wall sectors between arms is greater than the tip radius of the arms when the rotor is at rest, and tends to reduce to approach the tip radius under the influence of centrifugal force at high speeds. The hub, spider and wall form an assembly of great rigidity to withstand longitudinal distortion and vibration due to out of balance, without weighty reinforcement of the walls.
