Abstract

The base of the slicer, on which the apple is placed, consists of slats, placed on edge end with gaps between. The frame holding the slats is hinged to a frame across which metal wire are stretched. The evenly-spaced wires are brought down to cut through the apple and then pass between the slats. The slats present a row of stops (one on each) which retain the apple in the cutting position. The hinged frame has a stop, which keeps the wires from coming completely out from between the slats. Pref. the wires are tensioned individually with screws and/or collectively by a screw-adjusted frame. The handle may be pulled forward, to increase leverage. The slats and wires may be in interchangeable sets of different gauge; several apples may be cut at once.
