Abstract

The resin is pref. expanded polyurethane, the thickness of the glass sheet 1.5 -4mm, and of the foamed glass block, 30 - 40mm. Reflector is made by supporting the block on pegs (pref. of polyurethane) in a mould at the required distance from the glass sheet, and pouring in the resin. A solar energy absorber is made by mounting a set of the reflectors in close order on a lightweight (pre. honeycomb) steerable support; pegs on the support being fixed with resin into sockets in the foamed glass blocks.
