Abstract

A dynamic heat exchanger suitable for e.g. a furnace has a vertical duct (4) for entry of hot flu gases parallel to a vertical duct (5) for discharge of air heated by block shaped heat exchange elements(1). These are pushed through a horizontal branch (6) between the ducts at the top, and returned through a parallel branch (6) below. The blocks are lowered from the upper branch to the bottom branch inside the fresh air duct, and raised again inside the hot gas duc, against the two flows. At their lowest position, the blocks are supported by platforms (9) which keep then at the correct height to enter and leave the branches. At the top they are cleaned by a jet of hot air from a fan between the ducts.
