Abstract
The hacksaw (L) is anchored by pins (32) attached to rods (28), one located in the frame (1) the other in the handle (3). The end of the frame passes through a tapered opening (12) in the handle and has a block (13) mounted into the tube. The block is drilled to allow through the screwed tension rod (9) anchored in the handle. In operation the frame is pulled open to put an initial tension on the blade against the springs (30). The frame locks against the taper (12) and when the tension on knob (20) is turned the frame rotates on the junction (8) thus tensioning the blade.
