Abstract

Dielectric material covers this reference surface, and a dielectric layer of specified thickness is applied on the dielectric material. A conducting antenna element surface is laminated on the dielectric layer, and forms at least one radiating aperture between the periphery of the antenna element surface and the reference surface. An H.F. supply unit conducts H.F. energy to or from the antenna element surface. Dielectric material between the reference surface and the dielectric cover layer has a specified thickness, and at least a part of it has large cavities, so that a thin light, low-loss dielectric structure is produced. The dielectric material specified thickness is much smaller than 1/4 wavelength at intended signal frequency.
