Abstract
The insulating panel is made of plastics foam, pref. expanded polystyrene, and is used for heat- and sound-proofing buildings. At least one of the two surfaces of the tile has one or more grooves on each to a depth between a quarter and three quarters of the thickness of the tile. Each groove is pref. 2-5 mm wide, and can be cut out or moulded in. The grooves are parallel to each other and consist of a series of grooves parallel to the short side of the panel, and/or a series of grooves parallel to the long side. The grooves may extend the whole width and length of the tile or only over part of them. A groove around the edges of the tile enables it to be fitted to adjacent tiles.
