Abstract

Pharmaceutical compsns. contg. N-beta-ethyl piperidine raubasinate (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, are new. (I) is prepared, as described in the parent patent, either by treating raubasinic acid with N-2-chloroethyl piperidine, or by transesterifying a raubasine ester using an alkali metal N-2-hydroxyethyl piperidine alcoholate. In a typical example, tablets were prepd. contg. 0.05 0g (I.hydrochloride) 0.045g potato starch, 0.002g of a fatty acid ester, 0.002g talc, and 0.001 g scarlet G.N.
