Abstract

A device for heating a body such as the nozzle of an injection-moulding machine has a heating element with >=1 heating resistance which is enveloped in a heat-conductive material intended to come into thermal contract with the body to be heated. The device has a heat control unit adapted to receive information about the prevailing temp., via a sensor, and to control the power supply to the resistance. The sensor is located on the envelope of the heating element and is in thermal contact with it. Used in accurately set injection-moulding machines where the moulding cpd. is supplied to the nozzle at correct injection temp. so that any heat supplied to the nozzle must compensate only for convective or conductive heat-loss of the nozzle without altering the temp. of the cpd. itself.
