Abstract

The dental implant is held in the mouth by the attractive force between magnets. One twin pole magnet fits in a recess in the jawbone and two single pole magnets are located in the implant. The jaw magnet is held inside a cylinder of gold, or other metal accepted by the body, by a paste of dental silicone. The cylinder ends are flattened after assembly. A spring blade locking in a recess each side of the jawbone cavity holds the cylinder in place. The implant, with a magnet in its retainer wall each side, fits over the gum.
