Abstract

A positive presensitised printing plate which has been imagewise exposed and then treated with an alkaline soln. to dissolve the parts of the photosensitive layer which have been exposed is corrected. The prcess comprises coating the parts which are to be presse ved with an aqs. varnish, exposing the plate to light and removing with an alkaline soln. the parts of the photosensitive layer, which, unprotected by the varnish, have been irradiated. Used for removing stains and smudges formed during development. Process is simpler and less time-consuming than when using a brush to effect correction. Process is applicable to bi- or tri-metallic plates using a negative film and to positive presensitised plates, to bimetallic plates and to wipe-on type plates using a positive film. Applications include printed circuits and a display panels.
