Abstract

The burner (12) control system has a solenoid valve (11) which controls the gas supply, an A.C. voltage source being connected across a contact breaker. A two way switch (1) in one position, completes a circuit with an alarm device (7) and in its other position, completes a circuit with the solenoid valve. A flame detector (19) controls an ignition device such that if the solenoid valve is open and there is no flame, operation of the two way switch is delayed until the ignition device has been operated and a predetermined time has elapsed. The two way switch is then tripped to complete the alarm circuit.
