Abstract

The two dimensional shock absorbent suspension system is for the operators cab (23) or an earth moving machine. The cab is suspended at three points from a 'C' shaped support fram (24), three hydraulic shock absorbers (28, 29, 30) being arranged to a specific geometric layout. The shock absorbers (28, 29, 30) are pin-jointed between the support frame and the cab. Their axes are normal to lines passing the cab centre of gravity (C) and the shock absorber to cab pin-joints. The extensions of the shock absorber axes also describe a triangle (32, 33, 34) with angles between 30 deg. and 90 deg.
