Abstract

Protective covering for vehicle safety belt comprises a detachable sleeve of synthetic textile material provided at least in the regions of contact with the body of the wearer. The free longitudinal edges of the sleeve are joined by a sliding-clasp fastener, press studs, hooks and eyes, the like. The inner surface of the sleeve may be roughened or coated with an adhesive preparation.: The sleeve may be woven so as to provide the appearance of a chequered, braided or knitted structure, and may be adorned with decorative elements. It can easily be replaced by a new or clean covering, and has a protective effect similar to that of protective coverings for vehicle seats.
