Abstract

The automatic adjusting unit is designed for the operating piston of a brake cylinder for vehicle's brakes. A threaded spindle is positioned coaxially within the operating piston and has an axially extending borehole in the front end of which lies a control piston with seals which press against the borehole walls. A U-shaped expanding bracket is fixed to the head of the control piston and has its limbs extending in diametrically opposed grooves which penetrate the thread of the spindle in the longitudinal direction. The end of the groove is formed in each case as a stop for the end of the limb during axial movement of the control piston.
