Abstract

The hinge is for doors, windows etc. and is adjustable in three directions after fitting by means of a tubular body (1) screwed onto the opening portion by a stud (4) fitted to the centre and extending at right angles to it. There is a hole (3) in the top of the body for a height-adjusting tool. A round-headed screw (9) bears against a seat (11) at the top of the body on the inside, and screws into a tapped hole in the top of a tubular pivoting component (5). The latter has a recess to allow insertion of a further round-heated screw (7) screwing into the door-frame and supporting the weight of the door. There is also a groove formed in the body, engaging with flats (14) on the second round-headed screw in order to rotate it. The lower end of the tubular body is closed by a plug which is pressed or hammered in.
