Abstract

O3 generator to enrich air with O3 consists of a pair of electrodes separated by glass. This is in the form of a double walled glass tube forming an annular passage between. Part of the surfaces are made conducting to form electrodes and then a high voltage between the anode and cathode is applied. This creates an electric arc in the passage through which an air stream is passed. By this means O3 is formed in the air. The inner surface is created the anode and the outer surface the cathode. The electrically conducting portion is formed from metal foil and/or a metallised deposit such as a metallised plastic paint coating. Air is fed in at one end and the O3 enriched air comes out at the other. For use with water preparation e.g. for drinking or swimming baths.
