Abstract

The novel water-soluble monoazo dyes are of formula (I) in the free acid form In (I) Q is O or S; R is opt. substd. furfuryl or aryl; X is H, halogen, nitro or acetyl amino; Y=lower alkyl or carboxyl; Z is aromatic radical; n=1 or 2). Used as yellow dyes for polyamides, esp. nylon 6.6, nylon 6 and nylon 11, the dyeings being very fast to wet treatments and to light. In an example, phenyl anthranilate was diazotised and coupled with 1-(2':5'-dichloro-4'sulphophenyl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone.
