Abstract

Cement clinker is mixed before or during grinding with an aq. soln. of an unsatd. linear or branched aliphatic acid, neutralised with an alkali, either liquid or gaseous at low temp. (e.g. NH3) or mixed with organic amines such as triethanol amine in the presence of salts such as calcium formate and/or thiocyanate. The grindability and fluidisability of the cement powder are improved. The cement may also be mixed with the conventional additives such as fluorocarbon and silicon based surfactants, ethylene or propylene glycol grinding additives, antifoaming additives, dispersants etc.
