Abstract

The video equipment is used to reproduce and transmit a television programme. The programme is obtained from two or more video signals. The equipment comprises a television receiver (1) and sources (2, 3, 4) of video signals. One of the video sources consists of a tape deck which has means of loading, playing, rewinding and replaying the content of a magnetic tape. The equipment has a signal unit (5) which receives the video signal of the first source (2). The sound unit detects a characteristic of the signal from the first source (2). There is a switch unit (6) which normally connects the first video signal source (2) to the receiver (1). The switch unit can also connect the other video signal sources (3, 4) on failure of the first signal source (2).
