Abstract

The locking mechanism comprises a mounting plate (1, 2) supporting a fork headed bolt-lever (11) and a hand lever (12). the two levers pivot relative to the mounting plate, and two lugs from the hand lever engage linear grooves in the bolt-lever. Rotation of the hand lever, causes the lugs to slide in the grooves and the bolt lever to rotate. The levers have stub axles (13, 18) which fit in sockets (9, 10) provided in the mounting plate, and the mounting plate is divided longitudinally into two parts (1, 2) which fit together by a dowel (4) and socket. The bolt lever (11) is of 'I' section with the web cut away to form the forked head (15, 16) and the opposed channels forming hand-lever (12) lug guides.
