Abstract

The sleeper rests on a number of identical moulded concrete blocks, and is fixed by means of a cylindrical sleeve concentric with a pin (5) fitting into a cavity. Each block has a lengthwise groove on its top surface to receive fixture bolts (10) inserted through the top of the sleeper, and rail (9) fixing sleeper clips. The sleepers are fixed to the blocks by means of vibration absorbers, consisting of an intermediate sheet (3) between the block and sleeper. Each sleeper rests on at least two blocks, with the top of the blocks fitting into the inverted duct formed by the U shaped sleeper. The pins (5) can be sealed with epoxy resin.
