Abstract

In an electrical heating system a basic heating level is provided by cables in concrete which retains heat stored during recharging during the night. Total or partial failure of the heating system is signalled by current measurement at a central location. In an electrical heating system a current threshold relay is connected to each phase of the supply via current transformers. The normal supply current is displayed for each relay and an alarm system is set to operate when the supply current is less than normal. Ammeters connected to each relay circuit indicate the current amplitude and provide a guide to the nature of the fault.
