Abstract

Plaster compsn. comprises a small amount (25cc aq. soln.) pref. 3cc aq. soln. contg. H2SO4 cis pore former and H3PO4 as hardener, per kilo of plaster. The compsn. may also contain as foaming agent a bituminous emulsion. The plaster may also include as filler a lower density aggregate such as vermiculite, perlite, rigid scrap foamed plastics (e.g. polyurethane, PVC, Klegecell (RTM) or vegetable matter, (sisal fibres, maize cobs). The mixt. may also include a minor amount of hardenable glue with its hardener or a self emulsioning resin, together with its catalyst and hardener. In prepn. the plaster is added to the solution. After foaming oxalic acid may be added as a stabiliser and hardener. Used for making the inner part of a partition. Articles can be made much lighter than previously.
