Abstract

The formation of internal deposits in pipes containing liquids, much of the time at rest, is prevented by vibrating the pipes. This is carried out by a system of electro-magnets (7,8) which are operated sonically or ultrasonically. The magnets are energised (9) intermittently, so that the pipe is subject to trains of pulses. The most suitable positions are chosen by testing with a vibrator prior to installation. It is applied to pipes supplying beer from contains (1) through coolers (4) to a bar.
