Abstract

A safety fastening for a ski contains an adjustment screw which alters the tension of a spring. Problems of displaying accurately the tension in the spring are overcome by use of an index mounted on the screw. A safety fastening comprises a body (1) in which a helicoidal spring (2) is mounted and which controls the release of the safety fastener. An adjustment screw (3) has a head (4) protruding from the body and is retained by a collect (5) inside the body. Spring tension adjustment is effected by a peripheral finger (7) on the screw and which slides in a longitudinal slot (8). An index (10) on the screw is visible through a window (11) in the cover (12) which carries graduation marks (13).
