Abstract

The manually propelled mechanical floor cleaner uses a brush action with the application of liquid detergent, and includes vacuum extraction of soiled liquids. The vacuum extractor heads may take the form of two inverted channel sections resp. locating transversely fore and aft of the machine. The heads pick up either free dirt or soiled liquid. The heads also effect partial drying of cleaned surfaces and can be pivoted relative to a transverse axis. The pivoting action inclines the leading head away from the machine, makes a contact seal with the trailing channel leg, and is effected by a system of cables and springs. The leading top edge of each head may be displacable by a cable.
