Abstract

The polishing operation is carried out with the aid of an electro magnetic inductor and ferromagnetic polishing dust. The machine consists of several electro magnetic heads which are placed round a circular work table. The rotating magnetic end piece (6) of the work head is fed into the part to be polished, while the electromagnetic head can swivel about a horizontal axis. A fixed cam acts against rods and levers in such a way that a frame on which the polishing head is mounted tips over and compresses a compensation spring. The magnetic heads consists of a rotating core with magnets which are mounted on a fixed sleeve in such a way that the distance between magnet and sleeve can be adjusted.
