Abstract

The magnetic transducer head is used for recording and playing narrow recording tracks on a tape and comprises two ferrite core halves (10, 11), which are joined to one another by a glass solder. The thickness of at least one of the core halves (10) is reduced adjacent the magnetic air gap via at least one slot, filled with glass solder (20). The depth of the slots is approximately 20 micro metres and each slot pref. has a profile defining a segment of a circle in a plane parallel to the plane of the magnetic head. The slots may have a spherical profile.
