Abstract

A hanging support is for wiring suspended between poles. It is particularly intended for use with overhead telephone wires. The design is intended to simplify fitting and demounting operations. The support is in two basic mating parts, their interface serving to trap and hold the suspended wire. The upper element (1) is rectangular with two wings (7a,7b) extending downwards preventing lateral movement of the wire, the wing shapes being extended into the body of the block to form a shallow inverted 'V'. The lower element (18) fits through the upper and provides a suspension point (15) at its uppermost point, the cable (8) being held against the upper element by a shaped surface (19) on the lower, the weight of the wire providing the clamping force.
