Abstract

The motor has its carbon brushes lying axially parallel and touching collector segments mounted on the end face of the rotor perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the motor. The brush holder is constructed in one piece from a plastics insulator, and the brush holder incorporates the rotor centering element with a tie to align and fix the brush holder relative to the motor frame, and the electric terminals. Where two rotors are mounted axially parallel to form a single unit their brush holders are formed as one piece that carries two sets of brushes one for the collector segment set of each rotor.
