Abstract

The diesel engine air intake pipe is fitted with a duct (5) fitted with a Y connection (6). The main intake may be fitted with a cap (14) so that the system may be by passed by removing the cap. Normal combustion air enters the system through the air holes (8) in the base of the intake (7). The central part of the air intake pipe is fitted with a heating element (10). The heating element is powered from the battery and actuated through a switch fitted to the dashboard. Heating is effected for a period of upto 2 minutes.
