Abstract

The cable termination, for multicore cables in telephone exchanges, consists of a U-shaped casing for the cable (10) closed along its open side by a plate. Socket blocks (6) locate via hooks to lips along the sides of this plate and have their contacts connected to the cable's wires. Elements (20) plug into the socket blocks and are used for protection, testing etc. Each socket block also has contact pins (8, 8') at its sides for direct connection to the cable's wires. The incoming cable arrives from the subscriber circuits, and the outgoing cable leaves for the switching devices.
