Abstract

The cylinder has a plurality of gripping zones (27) and thus also a plurality of suction head zones (18). The object to be achieved is that the sheet to be transferred lies completely flatly on the transfer cylinder (10) without the overall construction being expensive and complex. For this purpose, each suction head (18) is mounted so as to be pivotable about a hollow shaft (12) of the sheet transfer cylinder (10). The consequence is that all the suction heads (18) are moved precisely on the outer surface of the cylinder (10). A mechanism (58, 60, 61, 67-69) is provided for pivoting a control shaft (32) back and forth and thus the sucker segments (16) and the suction heads (18) relative to the hollow shaft (12) of the transfer cylinder (10). The cylinder (10) is particularly suitable for two-colour single-sided printing on printing machines which can be converted to perfecting.
