Abstract

The sliding window (12) for the door of a lorry is raised and lowered by an arrangement using a flexible steel strip which slides inside a guide (13) housed inside the door. This guide has a vertical portion (35), and a bend (34) at the bottom, then a sloping portion (30) which terminates near the winding assembly (15). The top end of the steel strip is attached to a link, riveted at each end to the strip. A further link, with a pivot pin each end connects the bottom edge of the window to this link. The steel band is wound onto a drum forming part of the winder (15) or alternatively the strip has slots which are engaged by a toothed winding wheel.
