Abstract

The process is for the manufacture of vehicle number plates and has a coating glued (2) to a metal base (1) to give the background colour. The coating is of thin aluminium foil (3), stove-enamelled (4) on one face with paint of the desired colour. The coating is stuck in place on the metal base. Alternatively, coloured aluminium foil can be used. The design combines cheapness of manufacture with long life, without the coating peeling off or the base becoming discoloured.
