Abstract

The ski running surface coatings are formed on several support foils. Each foil has a sliding coating such as a wax layer on one side; the other side can be adhesively attached to the ski in such a way that the complete coating can be easily detached. The actual sliding characteristics of the separate coatings forming part of the series are different. The sliding coating applied to the support foil is covered for protection by a detachable protective strip which is removed after the device has been attached to the ski. The protective strips have varying colours indicating the different sliding characteristics of the coatings.
