Abstract
The blades (1) of the wind driven generator are mounted on the hub (2) so that they can pivot about their longitudinal axes. An arm extending from the blade root is connected by rods (5, 10) to a plate (7) which is loaded by a spring (8). The double ended crank (3) synchronises the motion of both blades. As the wind force on the blades increases, there is an increasing turning moment on the blade which is resisted by the spring (8) acting through the rods. When the spring force is overcome the blades (1) rotate about their longitudinal axes in such a way that the aerodynamic torque is reduced.
