Abstract

The spokes are fitted to the wheel hub by automatic equipment in a first fitting station. The hub and spokes are then moved to a second station on which they are spun to cause the spokes to assume radial settings. The spokes are divided into four levels whose outer ends are gripped by support rings rotating at the same speed as the hub. The rings then move for a set angle relative to the hub to set the different angles of the groups of spokes, and cause the spoke to cross each other. The spokes are the bent elastically before inserting through the wheel rim and securing with nippleS.
