Abstract

Storage bins in the form of truncated pyramids, have two long and two short sides so that they can be fitted inside each other or built into a pile by rotation through 90 deg. Carrying handles (14, 15) at the centre of the long sides can be used for lifting by a fork-lift truck, and feet (9, 10, 11) are also shaped for the same purpose. The feet also prevent one bin jamming inside another. The sides are of thin corrugated material and are at a relatively shallow angle. Bracing pieces (16, 17) connect and reinforce the U-section feet. The bracing pieces have a V-shaped cross-section, the outer arm of the V having a steeper inclination than the inner so that the handles on the bin below can fit between the feet.
