Abstract

A hollow rivet setting machine operated by an air motor, has an anvil (5) through which passes a bolt (8) held by a screw head (81) in the machine. The rivet is screwed onto the end of the bolt and the assembly is then inserted into the rivet hole. The anvil is brought down and the rivet is tightened onto the plate (3). The bolt (8) is then unscrewed and the rivet is left in position. The anvil is operated pneumatically and acts against return springs. The rivets are brought to the machine and stocked in rows, being fed one at a time to the automatic head.
