Abstract
The magneto-optical transducer rotates the optical polarisation plane in accordance with an electric current. A winding of optical fibres (3) surrounds an electric conductor (1). The optical fibres are such, that linearly polarised light carried by them is rotated in a plane in the presence of a magnetic field parallel to the fibres. The fibre winding is so arranged, that an unambiguous relation exists between the current intensity in the conductor (1) and the angle between polarisation planes of the light entering and leaving the fibres.
