Abstract

A bus bar arrangement for power distribution within a building or factory, provides tap- off points which may be rapidly attached or removed. The complete installation would normally be made up of there phase lines, a neutral and an earth line running in parallel. The basic conductor or bus bar is rectangular in section and stood off from an insulating mounting. Tapping points are approximately 'U' shaped insulating frames having internal and external profiles serving to trap the connector to th bus bar and to trap the outgoing cable connector. Connection within this shell is made by mating 'U' shaped metal elements into which the slid the cable connector itself. Fitting of the connectors is from one side, in the same plane as the bus bar.
