Abstract

The brake saddle carries a brake operating mechanism, which presses at least one friction plate against a rotating disc. The friction plate consists of a carrier plate on which a friction pad is mounted. The carrier plate moves along guide faces on the brake saddle. A spring acts between the saddle and the carrier plate, and prevents the carrier plate rattling. The spring can be locked axially w.r.t. the carrier plate. The first section of the spring passes through an opening in the carrier plate and engages, with a locking clip, with a second part of the spring. The spring together with the friction plate form an assembly which can be removed from the brake in one unit.
