Abstract

1345174 Friction linings and pads W BUSCH and H FRIEDERICHS 19 April 1971 [8 April 1970] 26594/71 Heading F2E A detachable friction lining 15 mounted in a dovetail shaped groove 13 of a support plate 11 is locked in position by means of a member 18 of a resilient retainer movable transversely in a further groove 17 of the support plate. In the embodiment shown for a disc brake of a rail vehicle the clamp comprises two members 18, 19 held in position by means of a bent over lip 20 of member 19, which member is of spring steel, or a pin 21 engaging a hole 22 in a member having a track 23 over which the lip or pin slides when the clamp is moved to allow access to the friction lining. In a further embodiment the clamp comprises a single forked clamping member (30), Fig. 5 (not shown) held in position by means of a spring biased pin (35) engaging a notch (37) in member (30).
