Abstract

A deodorising compsn. contains a metal salt of a hydroxylated unsatd. fatty acid. The compsns. are applied to the skin as a lotion, stick, cream or aerosol. They are non-toxic and non-irritant and well adapted for spraying, as the salts easily dissolved in CFCl2. The metal is pref. chosen from Gp. II elements and rare earth metals, e.g. Ce, La and Nd. The fatty acid is pref. ricinoleic acid and the salt specified is zinc recinoleate. The quantity used for aerosols is 1-6% pref. 2-4% and for sticks, creams or lotions 4-6%.
