Abstract

PURPOSE:A cosmetic that contains a specific amount of an ester made from hydroxybenzoic acid and an alcohol of 6 or more carbon atoms, thus being effective for improving the cornification of skins. CONSTITUTION:An ester made from a hydroxybenzoic acid and an alcohol of 6 or more carbon atoms, such as hexyl p-hydroxybenzoate, lauryl p-hydroxybenzoate, cetyl p-hydroxybenzoate, cholesteryl p-hydroxybenzoate, cycloartenyl p-hydroxybenzoate, is added by 0.05-20pts.wt. per 100pts. of the cosmetic. The ester positively prevents the cornification of skins such as roughening, chapping or dandruffing. It is added to cream, milk rotion, cleansing, lip stick, shampoo, rinse, tonic or hair-dressing.
